This is just a random diet post to keep me from losing track of the days. I don’t have much to say. I guess I haven’t all week. The Diet was something of a challenge this week. I went to a meeting where a major feature was food. Of course, food in this case mostly means sweets. I didn’t eat any sweets. The low carb diet does accomplish one of its main claims. It basically eradicates sugar cravings. Whereas it might take superhuman powers under normal circumstances to resist both king cake and cheesecake, that’s not so difficult after weeks and weeks of low carb living.

What was difficult was just the fact that there was very little left that I could eat and still remain both a vegetarian and a dieter. Luckily I carry nuts around in my purse for occasions such as this.

Anyhow, that was Friday. Today is what concerns me. Today I ate yogurt, a veggie burger, some string cheese, and another veggie burger. I don’t know about you, but I see a pattern emerging. I didn’t eat anything I had to put any effort into cooking.

This is the kind of day when someone not on a diet might eat a whole bag of cheddar jalapeno kettle cooked chips purely out of self-defense. I’ve applied all of my newfound South Beach powers to avoiding this fate. Unfortunately, these powers have done nothing about the fact that I’m still the kind of girl who doesn’t like to cook when she has other things that need doing.

It doesn’t much matter what kind of diet you’re own, you aren’t doing it right if you aren’t cooking healthy stuff to eat at least a few days a week. I keep telling myself this, hoping one day it will sink in.

I’ll let you know how that works out. For now, I’m still a little hungry, and there’s a sugar free chocolate pudding with my name on it in the fridge.
