She is a singer\/songwriter who has written music based on Welty&#8217;s fiction. Come on out and listen to some Kate with us.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve heard her twice now, and I think she is wonderful.  She&#8217;s also very good at talking about the literary and historical context for her work as a songwriter.  Good stuff.
