I skipped the November daily “I’m thankful for” posts to Facebook this year. I’ve participated before, but I just wasn’t into it this time. Part of me thought so many people were doing it now that it had become cliche and maybe a little overdone. The rest of me thought I was just a bad person and a curmudgeon for not bothering.<\/p>\n
But really, what more could I say that hasn’t already been said. Everyone is thankful for family, friends, health, security, and opportunity. I am too. I couldn’t be more appreciative.<\/p>\n
I just think all of that goes without saying. You’d have to be a pretty miserable person not to be appreciative of family, friends, health, security, and opportunity, so mark me down as a yes on that.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, I need something to claim for my appreciation post, so I’m going with housework. I appreciate housework. I appreciate that I have so much to do that I’m catching up on my Audible downloads. I appreciate that despite days and days of working on my house I see no end in sight and will therefore get to listen to a lot more audio books during the Christmas break. I appreciate that I’ve worked so hard this week I’ve lost two pounds without dieting. I appreciate that for the first time since Hurricane Katrina I’m managing to stay asthma free long enough to do this kind of work.<\/p>\n
I also appreciate that I have friend who are dragging me out of the house tonight to see a movie. I’m done for now, folks. Carry on.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
